It’s the little things that mean the most.

I came home at 4:30pm smiling after a fairly easy day at work, full of laughter and good conversation with my coworkers. Yes – laughter and contentment at work – I am blessed! I walk into my cozy apartment that I have been keeping clean and organized and taking pride in, and my precious dog greets me at the door by running full speed into my legs, with a tail wagging furiously and a tongue licking my cheek. Thank you, God.

Thank you, God, for my home, for granting me a loving heart to share with humans and animals alike. Thank you, God, for the three meals I ate today, and every day, without worry or fear for where the food will come from. Thank you, God, for granting me the emotions of gratitude, love, trust, acceptance, comfort, happiness, and even pain, and despair, and regret, because without these, I wouldn’t know the true beauty of the former.
